Outreach | Community Garden Update
Our garden is up and running! We have all our cold weather crops in and in the next few weeks we will be planting the remaining warm weather veggies.
Did you know that 100% of our harvest goes to the FoCo Café & Larimer County Food Bank? For the past two years we have grown over 2,000 pounds of produce for these organizations! This year we hope to make that 3,000 pounds.
In addition, we partner with Restorative Justice so that youth in their program can complete their community service hours in our garden. It has been so rewarding to teach these kids all about gardening. They get so excited about giving back. One youth said, “This so DOES NOT seem like community service! I love it”
To reach our goal, we can use your help. Here are a few ways you can lend a hand:
- Volunteer at one of our upcoming work days*! Swamped on those days? Reach out to Erica, and we will work something out.
- Delivery harvested goodies to FoCo Café and the Food Bank.
- Donate to the garden fund or donate gift cards from Lowes, Home Depot, or a local garden center.
