Family Housing Network – Faith Family Hospitality – Sherwood House
The demolition and rebuilding of Sherwood House is coming along nicely. Jack and Sue Krueger are heading the charge to get that house ready for up to 7 homeless families to live in while they reorganize their lives. On some Saturdays, there are teams of workers doing odd jobs around Sherwood House. Would you like to help? Sign up here. Also, you can take a tour of Sherwood House (321 S Sherwood St, Fort Collins) on Tuesdays from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. Just show up.
Faith Family Hospitality continues to impact lives as it offers shelter and food to up to four homeless families at a time in a different church each week. The next time our church will help host families at Plymouth Congregational Church will be April 28 – May 5. During that week there will be opportunity for dinner cooks, evening and overnight hosts, as well as set-up and tear-down crews to love God by serving our neighbors in need. Would you like to help?
A testimonial: Recently I saw a second grade boy who was in the FFH program this Fall. He asked me if I was still “in” FFH. When I said yes, he said, “I didn’t like moving from church to church every week, but I liked being there for three reasons. . .I didn’t have to worry about where we would sleep, the food was really good, and the people were so nice, even the old people.” I chuckled and thought, yep! Those are the three reasons we are involved in FFH: safe place for the night, nourishing food, and kindness during a hard time. That 8 year-old got it right!
