Worship | This Is My Story, This Is My Song Sermon Series

“I play the notes as they are written, but it is God who makes the music.”

Prior to writing even one note on the page, J.S. Bach would carefully form the letters J J at the top of the page. Music would then begin to pour from his soul and onto the page. When he was finally satisfied, he wrote the letters SDG at the bottom of the page: Soli Deo Gloria – For the Glory of God Alone. His deepest hope was that when his music was played, it would point toward God.

The songs we sing in worship do just that–point us toward God–and shape how we understand God’s work in the world.

Join us this fall (September 8 – October 13) as we sing some of our congregation’s most beloved church songs.
