Youth Mission Trips
Our youth have traveled both internationally, to other states, and to the poorest parts of Colorado to participate in mission work. CYF (our high school group for youth in grades 9-12) has traveled to Chicago, Los Angeles, an Indian Reservation in South Dakota, Mexico, Costa Rica, Texas, and other places to serve in orphanges and soup kitchens, as well as completing many rebuilding projects in poverty-stricken or disaster ravaged areas. This year the group will be heading to St. Louis to join youth from all over the country at the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Disciples Summer Mission event, June 26-July 2. We will be participating in a variety of mission projects while there as well as worship and fellowship opportunities.
Our Chi Rho youth (grades 6-8) trips in the past have included planning, cooking, and serving two meals per day at the La Puente Shelter in Alamosa, Colorado. This year the group will travel to the Christian Conference Center in Newton, IA, July 5-10. While at the camp, we will be helping to do some work projects to help the camp serve the young people and adults who attend church camp and retreats at CCC. We have 5 youth and 2 adults signed up for this trip right now but WE STILL HAVE SOME SPOTS AVAILABLE if you are interested in going with us; see Pastor Jason-Paul ASAP!
