Worship Service Opportunities
Heart of the Rockies members and friends, old-timers and newcomers, adults and high school youth, play an important part in preparing for and delivering a worshipful experience on Sunday mornings. Please prayerfully consider using your spiritual gifts by helping out with at one of our Sunday morning opportunities. Coffee and Donuts – Prior to the education hour, pick up goodies, prepare coffee, pour juice, and provide to those attending Sunday school or worship. Clean up after the service.
Communion Preparation – Prior to the service, pick up bread and prepare communion plates for the service. Also, prepare communion trays the third Sunday of each month for our nursing home worship service.
Greeters 1 & 2 – Greet each person coming to worship with a smile and handshake! Lead guests to the Welcomer.
Welcomer – Welcome guests (first-time worshippers) by providing an information packet and a small gift.
Usher – Hand out bulletins, pass out attendance pads, count attendees, and help with the offering and communion.
Sound Technician – Operate the sound board.
Projectionist – Operate our projection system.
Children’s Church Leader – Present a short lesson to our pre-school through third-graders during sermon time. (Prepared lessons are provided.)
Communion Servers 1 & 2 – Deliver the Communion Invitation and Words of Institution OR deliver the Communion Prayer and Offering Invitation. Serve communion to the congregation by intinction and clean up communion ware after the service.
Communion Servers 3 & 4 – Assist in serving communion to the congregation by holding a plate & chalice OR either the plate with gluten-free wafers or the tray of individual juice cups. You do not need to speak at the table.
Counters 1 & 2 – After the service, serve with another person to count and record offering and prepare for deposit.
Fellowship Hour Hosts 1 & 2 – Prior to the fellowship hour, pick up and prepare light refreshments. Set up in the lobby, adding seating if needed. Clean up food and drink items afterward.
