|Volunteer need. The adults will begin an intensive language learning experience with classes. The Learning Source is looking for volunteers to help Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6-8 pm, as assistants to the lead teacher. The class is held in the Genesis Project building, 400 S. Link Ln. Volunteers will work with a small group of learners (of a certain level) for practice. The curriculum is provided and the lead teacher will coordinate the volunteers. Ideally one volunteer would work both nights. The class begins Sept. 26 and runs 10 weeks. Please contact the coordinator, Andrea Heyman if you are interested, 970-218-6038.|
It was so exciting to surprise the Jan family with their 2013 Explorer last week. Mehr was especially excited to be able to drive the vehicle under the watchful eye of Jeff Wright, who has been teaching her to drive. Thank you to Seth Meyer for checking out the vehicle for mechanical soundness, and to Jeff Wright, Bob Poncelow, and Cristina Mahan for doing the legwork to complete the purchase. A combination of proceeds from the Hugh and Cristina Mahon Endowment Fund and your generous gifts have made this possible. We are still receiving gifts for the vehicle fund to reimburse the church for a small loan made to complete the purchase. To give, indicate “Afghan family vehicle” on your check, or give online here by clicking on the Afghan Family Resettlement tile. The family is so grateful for your friendship, hospitality and generosity.
