Worship | Rife with Devastation; Ripe with Joy
September 11 – October 16
I want a word that means
okay and not okay,
more than that: a word that means
devastated and stunned with joy.
I want the word that says
I feel it all all at once.
From For When People Ask
Inspired by these words from Colorado poet Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer, we’ll explore stories from the lectionary (a three-year series of readings from scripture) that remind us that we have always lived in a world that is both rife with devastation and ripe with joy. Each service will begin with a personal story of joy, and we’ll listen together for the good news that even in the midst of a climate crisis, a racial reckoning, political polarization, and personal heartache, we can find joy that sustains us and is worth celebrating.
