Year-end Giving

The Finance Team is asking everyone to consider making an over-and-above, year-end gift to our General Fund. Ending the year without a deficit will help fulfill the incredible ministries of Heart of the Rockies and present a strong financial picture to prospective Senior Pastor candidates. There are several ways to give: by check; electronically; through a gift of appreciated securities or donor advised fund; and, for folks 70 ½ and older, with a gift from one's IRA (an excellent way to avoid paying taxes on one’s required minimum distribution).

To be counted in 2024, checks must be postmarked on or before December 31. Electronically transferred securities, to avoid tax on any appreciation, must be posted not on the date a broker is asked, but on the date when the gift is entered in our account. If giving from your IRA, check with your IRA administrator who knows the rules including how gifts can satisfy the obligation for those required to make a minimum distribution without paying tax on the transfer, and the dates by which the funds must be removed and transferred to the church.

Thank you for responding to our mission of Loving God, Serving Others, and Changing Lives!  (Oh, if you have not yet submitted an Estimate of Giving for 2025, please do so now.)
