After over a year of genocidal acts against Palestinians in Gaza and settler violence in the West Bank, the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) has appealed for the support of our partners in the Middle East as they respond to the needs of their communities during this current crisis. Israel’s war on Gaza has resulted in the death of more than 11,000 children according to the UN. Almost all of the population in Gaza is suffering from or is at high risk of food insecurity and famine. According to the State Department and USAID, Israel is deliberately denying the entry of food and medical relief. Three-quarters of Gaza’s hospitals are out of service. The remaining hospitals are overburdened with greatly diminished capacity and supplies. The US has supplied or sold the weaponry Israel has used to kill tens of thousands and displace nearly two million people. The continued suffering of both Israelis and Palestinians is unacceptable.
