David Shirey
Interim Senior Pastor
David is a native of Warren, OH, with a B.A. in Religious Studies from Indiana University and a M.Div. from Vanderbilt Divinity School.
Over forty years of congregational ministry, he served churches in various contexts (small-town, inner-city, suburbs, and more) across the United States. Since 2007, he has served on the leadership team of the Bethany Fellows, a mentoring and spiritual leadership ministry that has accompanied 200+ newly ordained pastors in their transition from seminary to congregational ministry.
In his free time, he loves to write, including two books on his experiences as a pastor: Pew & Pavement and It Don’t Get Any Better Than This.
David and his wife Jennie have been married 40 years. They have three children and three grandchildren.Wendy Davidson

Wendy joined Heart of the Rockies in 2022. The congregation’s commitment to love and justice drew her to this place - particularly through their commitment to being Open and Affirming and their work to provide affordable housing through Heartside Hill. She loves books (especially audiobooks), playing with her cat, Felix, and a good old session of Dungeons and Dragons. Her Master of Divinity is from Brite Divinity School in Fort Worth, Texas (following an undergraduate degree in Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin; a logical progression).Sarah Ballard-Ramirez

Sarah is a Colorado native, she moved to the front range to attend college and obtained her Associate of Applied Science in Business Technology. Sarah lives near Fort Collins with her husband, two children & son-in-law and five dogs. She enjoys taking her dogs for walks, going to symphonic concerts with her son, volunteering around the community and going to escape rooms with her whole family.Ruth Meyers
Director of Music
Ruth is a multi-talented musician who leads the praise band, directs the choir and both bell choirs, arranges for special music, and accompanies the service. Her roles outside Heart of the Rockies include music therapist and piano teacher. Ruth enjoys spending time in the mountains, rockhounding, and creating jewelry.
