Volunteers of America provides 2 hours a week of non medical respite for caregivers a week and they’re specifically in need of volunteers! They’ve launched a new program called “Rainbow Respite,” where they match trained volunteers with LGBTQ identifying caregivers and loved ones. Rainbow Respite Volunteers receive additional training on caring for LGBTQ older adults and their unique concerns. Heart of the Rockies has been involved with Faith Family Hospitality (Family Housing Network’s overnight program) since its inception, about 12 years ago. For four weeks every year HRCC volunteers join volunteers at Plymouth Congregational Church (UCC) to host up to four families.
