Refugees, Immigration, and Global Justice

ISAAC

Heart of the Rockies is a covenanted member of the Interfaith Solidarity and Accompaniment Coalition (ISAAC), which supports immigration justice.

Refugee Support

In recent years, Heart of the Rockies has partnered with other faith communities to sponsor and support two refugee families from Afghanistan.  We provided furnishings, clothing and household essentials, and helped the families adapt to life in Fort Collins.  We continue to walk with these families in their journeys toward self-sufficiency and a stable, safe life in the United States.

Palestine

For many years, Heart of the Rockies folks have participated in alternative tours of Palestine and Israel to learn firsthand about justice and equality issues for Palestinians, meeting with both Palestinians and Israelis. We co-sponsored our denomination’s “Compelled to Witness” Anti-Apartheid statement, which was adopted at the 2024 General Assembly. We have provided financial support to organizations seeking peace and justice in Palestine and Israel, including Kairos Palestine, Tent of Nations, The Parents Circle, and Combatants for Peace.
