Prayground
A sacred space for kids to worship, wonder & be.
As an Open and Affirming Church, Heart of the Rockies has affirmed that all are welcome to participate and lead regardless of age, ability or other identity. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14).
Our Prayground is located in the Sanctuary in the space nearest the Nursery. The Prayground is a space that helps our children and their families to engage more fully in worship and connect with God and each other. We encourage our families to sit with their children when in the Prayground space.
There is a grown-up Guide in the Prayground to help our children use the space in a way that helps them connect to God and worship. These grown-ups model how to listen, sing, pray, and connect in worship. There is also a written guide that anyone can use to help prepare them for the different parts of worship.
In this space, you will find space to write prayers, find stories that connect with scriptures, connect with communion, and a space that allows them to connect creatively with what is happening in worship.

Worship Activity Kits are available in the sanctuary for all ages as well.
