Worship & Wonder
Children ages 3 through 3rd Grade meet for Worship and Wonder every Wednesday evening during the school year from 6-7:30 p.m. Worship and Wonder was created to make a special place for children to experience and worship God.
Guiding Lights – Children & Youth Policy
In Mark 9.36, Jesus tells his Disciples, “whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me…” Heart of the Rockies Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) believes, as Disciples, we are called by God to create a safe space for all children and youth in our care to know they are welcomed, loved and affirmed. Our goal as a community of faith is to be intentional about creating hospitable space where all can thrive; a safe and healthy environment in which young people can learn about and experience God’s love.
We are committed to the safety, welfare, and protection of all children and youth participating in the activities and programs of this church. This means that all of our adult volunteers have received training on our Guiding Lights policy, including emergency procedures, reporting process, healthy boundaries, ratios, allergy and first aid awareness, and other general training procedures deemed necessary by staff. Tour of Life
Each year, children preparing for baptism and a life of discipleship are invited to participate in the “Tour of Life.” On this day-long retreat, those interested in baptism are paired with an adult mentor as the group travels throughout the city, connecting the Christian faith to everyday life.
Summer Camp
Our children and youth tell us that summer camp is one of their most significant faith experiences each year. All camps listed below are held at La Foret Camp and Conference Center near Colorado Springs. Recognizing the value of outdoor ministry, Heart of the Rockies covers a portion of the camp fee for our campers. Information and registration forms for upcoming camps are here.
