Youth Mission Trips
Each summer our youth have the opportunity to learn what it means to put our faith in action, to hear stories, build relationships, and grow in our understanding of what it means to love others. CYF (our high school group for youth in grades 9-12) has traveled to Chicago, Los Angeles, Oakland, Mexico, Costa Rica, Texas, and other places to serve and learn. Youth also have the opportunity to attend a Fall Retreat with other Disciples congregations where mission is a key element of the weekend. Opportunities for mission for high school aged youth are typically announced in January.
Our Chi Rho youth (grades 6-8) trips in the past have included planning, cooking, and serving two meals per day at the La Puente Shelter in Alamosa, Colorado, and traveling to do various mission services in Laramie, Wyoming. This opportunity is usually announced in the spring.
Alternative Tour to Israel and Palestine
Each year, Jeff & Janet Wright lead a Global Ministries People-to-People pilgrimage to Israel and Palestine, seeing the holy sites and Global Ministries mission partners, and visiting with Muslims, Jews and Christians.
